4 common CBT mistakes you should avoid

Perhaps the delivery of the Course Completion Work (CBT) is the most important moment of the entire graduation. If it is not the most important, it is at least what will define whether you put your hand in the straw or not.

Even starting the work there in the 5th or 6th period, depending on the course, when it is time to complete it, the possible common mistakes in CBT create a feeling of insecurity. Many rules to observe, many criteria to meet, in fact, many aspects to pay attention.

1. Non-standard formatting
The formatting of a scientific work is one of the most important criteria and observed by the teachers and the evaluating bank. Poorly formatted work runs the risk of being analyzed with some disdain, compromising the final grade.

In general, the teaching institutions follow the rules of formatting scientific works of the ABNT; however, some develop their own manual. If your college has a manual of its own, follow it strictly and you will not have anything to fear.

2. Too long quotations
You do not do a CBT without references. There are many authors and articles read for the elaboration of the final work. And these references should be clearly stated at work so that all your effort does not turn into shameful plagiarism.

When a quotation is too long, it means that you were either lazy or unable to develop the idea in your own words. Never use extremely long quotations. There are no rules for this, what counts here is common sense.

3. Incomplete references
Referrals (this is when you turn a blind eye and say “what a bummer”) are for counselors and evaluators to see where exactly you got that idea or argument from.

Study the correct way to cite direct, indirect references, videos, movies, internet articles (use your college manual or ABNT standards) and do not risk plagiarizing.

A trick is to get the right reference the moment you get in touch with that idea you want to use. We often borrow books that we never see or access articles on the Internet whose pages no longer exist for several reasons.

4. Other Common Mistakes in TCC
In addition to the mistakes already cited, there are other common mistakes students make in CBT.

The famous “filling sausage” is disastrous. It is better to say in a succinct but complete way, what you mean than to make detours. Believe me, appraisers hate it!

Incorrect spelling also causes shivers in the evaluator. If you do not master the Portuguese language well, there are several professionals who do the review work. Asking for help from anyone who understands the subject is also valid.

The use of the first person in the singular was for a long time considered an outrage, but today some authorities in the matter think differently. The best thing to do is to avoid overeating and use common sense.
